Scoil Rince Ní Bhrogáin
Our Founder Teacher
Frances Brogan's journey with Irish dance started in her childhood, growing up with a deep love for the art form. Her dream of sharing this passion led her to found Scoil Rince Ní Bhrogáin in 1977. As a primary school teacher, teaching dance was a natural extension of her love for working with children. Her own children's involvement in dance further inspired her. The school grew into a close-knit community, nurturing young dancers with care and enthusiasm. Today, Frances continues to teach in primary schools, passing on her passion for dance and education. Over the years, the school has expanded, teaching dancers on both sides of the Atlantic, with her daughter, Ríoghnach, carrying on the same passion in New York. Ríoghnach, with a Master’s in Psychology, brings a unique understanding of child development, mindset, and motivation to support dancers, especially those training for the World Championships. Since its beginnings in Ireland, Scoil Rince Ní Bhrogáin has grown from a small local class into a vibrant international school that shares the same values, passion, and sense of family that have been at the heart of the school since day one.

School Ethos
At Scoil Rince Ní Bhrogáin, the experience goes far beyond weekly dance lessons. Students of all levels become part of a supportive and close-knit community where lifelong friendships are made. The school emphasizes not only strong technique and performance skills but also confidence-building, resilience, and teamwork. Dancers benefit from personalised guidance, whether they dance for fun or train for the world stage, with workshops, performance opportunities, and mindset support helping each child reach their own potential. Frances and Ríoghnach aim to create an environment where every dancer feels encouraged, valued, and inspired to grow both on and off the dance floor. The main aim of our transatlantic school is to foster relationships between Irish and USA families to provide unique experiences for the children to travel to another country to compete and make lifelong friendships and memories.

Individual Goals
At Scoil Rince Ní Bhrogáin, every dancer’s journey is valued, whether they are taking their very first steps or striving for a World Championship title. Beginners are encouraged with patience and positivity, helping them build confidence, coordination, and a love for Irish dance. For more experienced dancers, individual guidance, structured training, and mindset support provide the tools needed to achieve success at the highest levels of competition. The school helps each student set and achieve their personal goals, growing not only as dancers but also as confident, resilient individuals.
